Striim Platform 5.0 documentation

Managing users

When first setting up Striim Platform, the Striim admin will need to log into the Striim server directly. The admin can then choose to create the users directly in the system, or they can set up single sign-on (SSO). Single sign-on allows users to use a single set of credentials to log in to different apps and resources. This is simpler for the user and more secure for the business. You can also configure SSO with multi-factor authentication (MFA) to provide an additional layer of security.

Striim supports these two user management methods as follows:

  • Manage users using SSO: you can use SSO by integrating Striim with an identity provider (IdP). The supported identity providers are Microsoft Entra ID and Okta. The admin must first configure Striim with the IdP details using the Users + Roles menu, and then authorize users in the IdP to use Striim.  Your users can then log into Striim either through the SSO login mechanism on the Striim login page, or federate into Striim from the user's IdP application page.

When a user first logs in from the IdP to Striim, the user and namespace are automatically created in Striim.

For more information on integrating Striim with an IdP, see Managing users using single sign-on (SSO).

  • Manage user using Striim: you can create the users and their associated namespaces using Striim. You may select this option if your organization does not use SSO, or you need access to Striim in the event SSO is unavailable.

For more information, see Managing users using Striim.
